R.I.P Guru

Hip-Hop lost one of the Greatest MC's of all time yesterday when Guru passed.

Guru was one of my top 5 favorite MC's. The unique monotone style he always stayed true to was easily recognized on any track and by far one of the dopiest styles ever. Not to mention his lyrical content was always real life ish I could get down with. Even when he made it big he kept it real. I just wish He and Premier could have squashed the beef that grew between them. There will never be another MC DJ pairing as fresh as Gang Starr.  

As I sit here typing I can't help but think about how integrated his work is into my lexicon. Like who can say lemonade and not think about how popular it was and still is... Every time I fly I think about above the clouds. Shit my favorite ringback is "Mass Appeal". "My Self Lord and Master" has been my job title for years.. I cant count how many times i've said "I'm sorta the Boss so get Lost". There are so many bangers each track he's blessed... 

I'm so bummed that his supreme reign has come to an end.
